Five of our HDB members with their 3 babes went to Townsend, Tennessee for the 2 night's stay at the KOA Campground. The second day, we went to the famed Foothills Parkway which leads to the one and the only Deals Gap ride, so called as the Tail of the Dragon, a very difficult road with 318 turns in 11 miles. It really tested our skills in turning and clutch braking. We stopped at the resort at the end of the 11 miles ride and shopped for some shirt and the souvenirs. We then went to the Cherokee reservation when it started raining. Luckily, we decided to park our bike in some kind of shelter and there our bike stayed dry while we shopped at their stores. The rain continued beyond our shopping and we all decide to go ahead and ride in the rain. The rain stopped later on and we had a very nice ride afterwards! We stayed at the cabin one last night before we head for Monteagle, Tennessee where they had a rally called Thunder on the Rock. It consists of over 20 thousand bikers. we had a prearranged meeting with 9 other deaf bikers from Tennessee and we had a nice time, being among the 20 thousand attendees who danced to the group called .38 Special. Some of us shopped at the vendors that sells bike accessories and clothes. We left for home the next day, all tired and all smiles.
Shelbyville Boogie
About 25 HDB bikers including their babes went to Shelbyville for the 2nd annual Boogie/ cookout. We held a short meeting to donate $500 to the Paige Hawkins Fund. We raised some money from the film can picks to help make the $500 donation. We all had a good time and a good fill of their wonderful buffet. What's more, it does not cost us a thing! We, the HDB members, want to thank Christian Copper and his parents for their great contribution to make this event special for everybody. Everyone there sure made us feel like home!
